MEXT – the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology – has offered scholarships to UK graduates and Japanese major UK undergraduates for over 50 years, giving them the opportunity to continue their studies in Japan.
The postgraduate scholarship is primarily a research award, but in some cases entry onto a taught degree is possible. Research may be undertaken in almost any field as long as it is relevant to the grantee’s field of expertise or previous studies.
