A team of Recruiters and Hiring Managers from Fisher Investments will be presenting their top tips for a CV that will get their attention. They will also be discussing the biggest mistakes they see candidates make during the interview process and how you can avoid them.

Bring your CV! They will have time to look over it and give you advice to make your resume stand out.

If you make an impression, they may even give you an opportunity to interview for a job!

Careers in the humanitarian sector are increasingly popular, but also highly competitive. This talk will explain the work of the International Committee of the Red Cross in conflict zones around the world and what we look for in candidates. If you want to know what it takes to get a meaningful, fascinating job in which you'll have the privilege to help to some of the world's most desperate people, this talk is for you.

This talk is aimed at students who are looking for general information about what universities look for during the Masters degree application process, including personal statement advice, timelines and other useful hints. Lindsay Stewart has been working in UK higher education since 2005. After working briefly for a  professional services firm and managing admissions for the education division of Christie's, she managed outreach and recruitment activities for Engineering at Queen Mary, University of London. Recently as an International Officer for Regent's University London she rounded out a solid understanding of higher education expectations of potential students. She now works as the Postgraduate Recruitment Manager and manages EU recruitment for Goldsmiths, University of London.

Aimed at students interested in chartered accountancy as a career, this presentation will tell you what you need to know and do to prepare for a career as a chartered accountant. Come along to find out more about:

  • How you can achieve ICAEW Chartered Accountant status by taking our globally-recognised ACA qualification;
  • The types of employers you can work for and how you can begin your ACA training;
  • Opportunities for career progression as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant;
  • Our University Student Scheme (USS).  

You don’t need to have studied a relevant degree to become ACA qualified. We currently have recent graduates from all degree disciplines from engineering to languages, history and geography to economics, maths and the arts. Rey is a native of the Bronx, New York City, and earned a computer science degree at Harvard before promptly rejecting any career that involved computers in favor of the noble teaching profession. He taught at several schools and non-profits before earning his MBA at the University of California Berkeley - Haas Business School, which he entered with a 99th percentile GMAT score of 760 (out of 800.)

He has been part of the Manhattan Prep team since 2006 and since then has taught hundreds of students in San Francisco and New York City. Today, he is the Vice President and General manager of the company. In Rey's spare time, he's with his family, whipping something up in the kitchen, or teaching himself to play the drums.
